The Hat Magazine runs an annual international competition to design and make a small collection of hats.
The theme in 2010 was 'Steampunk' , which is hard to sum up in one sentence but is basically Victorian sci-fi. My designs had lots of brass, rivets, buckles, lace and leather.
My pieces were exhibited with 5 other finalists' hats at Premiere Classe in September 2010 and I was very happy to be awarded third place by judges Edwina Ibbotson and Justin Smith.
